The Preachers have a Fits And The Tantrums vibe in their soulful sound, which is what makes this song so radio ready.

Barnett's sassy indie punk vibe really sets this tune apart. The Hearse is everything you'd expect the hear from a song titled as such. It's ominous and dark and there is even an organ. Reminiscent of The Killers, The Hearse has a particular edge. Strangers is the music version of a lucid dream with its collection of calming echoes that vibrate throughout the song. Because the lyrics are repetitive they induce a type of trance and in their hypnotic wake you are left with a feeling of weightlessness.
